Name: Santa María Magdalena Church
Category: Religious buildings
Location: 1014 Budapest, Kapisztrán tér 6.
Description
A Gothic bell tower is the main part of the remains of the Church of Saint Madeleine. During the Ottoman occupation, this Church was the only Christian building allowed by the Turks. Catholics and protestants prayed there in turn. Some temporary exhibitions are organised inside the tower. If your legs are strong and your lungs are up to it, you can go up to the top and see the set of bells which chime from time to time.
